Wedding Reception

I’ve probably been to over 100 weddings by now! No two are alike and all those small details that my couples spend months deliberating and deciding help create the unique atmosphere at each Wedding Reception.

At my own wedding reception in a marquee at Bagborough House, in Somerset, we had simple trestle tables and wild flowers in jam jars;  Jamie Oliver’s fish pie, home made blackberry ice cream (all the blackberries were picked by my Mum) and the most fabulous Brazilian salsa band. We had 120 people and until the week before, when rain forced our hand, the marquee was going to be in a field at Cothelstone close to where my husband lived.

It was absolutely brilliant from start to finish but for me, the only really important thing, which completely made our day,  was having all my friends and family under one roof. It’s the people who create the atmosphere at a wedding reception – people who love the bride and groom, people who are celebrating their love and revelling in their union and who are up for a fantastic party!

The photos that I take at the wedding reception are some of the most relaxed photos of the day and reflect the atmosphere that is so unique to each Wedding party.  I will do a mixture of natural light photos (while I can) and flash-lit photos, bouncing the light off the ceiling or the walls of the marquee where possible.
