Oxford Wedding – Katherine and Alan

Katherine and Alan had such a beautiful wedding – seamlessly organised by Katherine and also Emma McDonald at Something Blue with incredible attention to detail and lots of lovely treats for their guests.  It was one of the hottest days of the year and Oxford was at it’s most regal!

The ceremony took place in the stunning Christ Church Cathedral i with a huge crowd gathered in Tom Quad to see the beautiful bride arriving.  Afterwards the guests walked across town to Rhodes House where they had a Marquee Reception and Katherine and Alan enjoyed a stylish getaway in their vintage car.

The bridesmaids and myself were in also in a vintage car which unfortunately overheated in the Oxford traffic but we managed to hitch a lift with a helpful passerby who happened to have a very speedy soft top!

Katherine and Alan had organised tiny welsh rarebits and mini ice creams as canapes while their guest enjoyed their cocktails on the lawn of Rhodes House.  And after Group Photos everyone sat down for the most excellent speeches in the Marquee – I do really like it when the Bride does a speech and Katherine, as a seasoned raconteur as a barrister, brought the house down with her funny and touching words.

The party moved inside Rhodes house where Katherine and Alan cut their cake and had their first and lots more dances to their funky band.
